Scaling Impact

Masters in Sustainability Management

Recipient of the Earth Institute Sustainability Management Fellowship

My journey in the world of conservation and social sector led me to my Masters in Columbia University. During my work in Social Sector I realized the importance to scale environmental efforts, understanding and research in bigger Governmental & Corporate level. And my studies in Columbia is helping me realize that dream to increase my foot holding in that world. This page some of my projects. : )

Currently in the second semester of my Masters, my coursework includes diverse mix of important courses like Impact Finance, Reversing Biodiversity Crisis, Life Cycle Assessment, Climate Risk Scenario Analysis, Sustainability reporting and more!

Bloomberg Trading Challenge

Hitting the Walls Street.

The Bloomberg Trading Challenge is a global university competition where teams invest $1 million virtual USD using the Bloomberg Terminal in five weeks. Students compete to create the best return-generating strategies against peers worldwide, with trades based on real market data. The winning team achieves the top relative return compared to a benchmark index.

At the moment, my team is 211th in 2000 teams across the world leaderboard the first week. As we're racing towards the upcoming weeks, we're closely monitoring the equity market across the world to maximize our P&L and keeping tabs on Macro factors across the Globe.

Our team also stands best within the Columbia University teams. With rigorous analysis and risk appetite our team is well positioned to break the Leaderboard by the end of the trading challenge.  Our team is a mix of finance & data science geeks across Columbia University.

Biodiversity Strategy Analysis: Watershed Restoration

Analyzing Bronx River Restoration with Bronx River Alliance

My teammate Dorothy and me worked on analyzing the restoration effort of the Bronx River Alliance. The project involved in-depth site visit to the river and interacting with the Bronx River Alliance (The non-profit responsible for the restoration) and work on a research paper and a presentation. Our paper and presentation was commended by our Professor Amy Karpati and is on the way to get published on different platforms.

Meeting Norway's PM.

I met the PM of Norway! This is why Columbia University is one of the most prestigious institutes. The education, network & exposure. Its just been a month here in New York and I personally interacted with the Prime Minster of Norway as part of the Climate week events!!!! 💙💙

It was a pleasure to attend Hon'ble Jonas Gahr Støre's Columbia World Leader Forum Event. His brief address enlightened the audience on various aspect of Norway's Energy transition journey and global environmental politics. I had the chance to interact with him during the event about environmental politics and action in Developing economies and the sovereignty of nations in matters of environmental concerns. I also met with him for a brief moment after his talk to discuss about the concerns. Here is a LIVE from the EVENT!
